It really irritates me when I see companies looking for “interns” when what they really want is nothing more than FREE work. It REALLY irritates me when it’s a company that’s mission statement says it’s dedicated to helping the poor. Really, certain company that’s offices are located in San Francisco and can afford rent but can’t afford to pay someone for their work?

Many thanks go out to a certain Irish editor I know who helped me upgrade an entire edit suite today. After hours and hours of software updates, firmware updates, hardware updates and even a shot in the dark update we now have a dedicated suite for color grading.

If I had a Twitter account I’d tweet that Deadliest Catch constantly posting viewers tweets on the bottom third of the screen is really FUCKING distracting!!!

Producer: (calls me while at another job) Do you think you can come in right now and work on a sizzle reel for us?

Me: Right now? No, I’m working.

Producer: But we have money riding on this reel.

Me: I have money riding on THIS job.

I did go in later that night though and worked on it until the network said it wasn’t necessary. The show did get picked up.

Producer: Is it really going to look that bad (on TV)?

Me: You’re asking me if a cheap cad program that makes cads not meant to be broadcast on TV is going to make cads that don’t look good on TV? Yes, they are going to look that bad.

Producer: Well that stinks.
